An adapted Moral Development Interview Inventory (MDII) was applied as research instrument to meet the study objectives. The demographic data of juvenile delinquents was collected through a survey. On the basis of demographic data, the adapted MDII was used to examine the reasons of their delinquency. The research data (regarding moral level assessment) were collected in two phases. After the treatment, post-test was conducted in 2nd phase. Data were analyzed through SPSS (version 27). Paired samples t-test was applied on overall total scores of pre-test post-test of all dilemmas (moral stories used in research tool) as well as scores of pre-test post-test each dilemma one by one. The Mean score of pre-test of all dilemmas was 44.43, SD was 121.67, the Mean score of post-test was 56.93, SD was 155.87 with t-score -2.05 df was 31 and significance value was 0.000. The result showed significant difference between vii pre and posttest scores of all dilemmas. Paired samples t-test was applied on pre-test and post-test scores of all juvenile delinquents and each juvenile individually to analyze the effect of treatment on moral development of juvenile delinquents. The Mean score of pretests of all dilemmas was 129.27, SD was 194.94, the Mean score of posttests was 165.63, SD was 248.37 with t-score -2.09, df was 10 and significance value was 0.000. The result showed significant difference between pre and posttest total scores of all juvenile delinquents. It proved that treatment had effect on moral development level of juvenile delinquents. It was concluded that the juvenile delinquents imprisoned in District Jail Okara needed moral training based on social values because training enhanced their moral development level. It is suggested that such trainings should be arranged for other juvenile delinquents of Punjab province and it may be extended to entire Pakistan for making the juvenile delinquents bonafide citizen of the society. The study would be useful for stakeholders and policy makers of prison department for reviewing and revising existing moral development module(s) in practice for juvenile delinquents.
