Abstract: (Children Literature in Pakistan and Egypt: A Comparative Study (0551/5105) The research work in the given dissertation is to highlight the objectives of this study. First objective is to trace the salient features of this kind of literature through its different genres (Poetry, novel, folk stories, drama, and theater). Second objective of this study is to know the impact of this literature on children's socialization, and third objective is to compare between children’s literature of Pakistan and Egypt in historical and cultural perspective. This has been done through selected books of Urdu and Arabic chosen in terms of their popularity among children. These books consist of all genres of literature. The scholar has found some great similarities and differences between the children literature of these two countries on their children personality. The researcher concluded that literature plays an important role in building a child's personality. The purpose of this study is to draw attention to children's literature and to start a scholarly movement to attract the younger generation to literature. Few suggestions considering these findings are following: Firstly, media should play its role to draw children’s attention to reading and writing and to educate them about responsibilities of the present and future. Secondly, a National Commission may be established for Care of Children's Literature through Media. Thirdly, special websites and digital libraries may be established for the promotion of children's literature and their introduction to modern technology. Fourthly, the government should bring in use all the modern resources and equipment for children learning. Fifthly, all High-level authorities may make comprehensive decisions and implement them in the children's world. Sixthly, a systematic coordination should be maintained between different organizations which do children related work and conflict should be avoided between them. Last but not the least, government should make a comprehensive plan for better future of children, fill the gaps and build capacity.
