Pak-Us Relations and Its Impacts on Regional Politics: 1990-2001

Abstract

Pakistan came into being on 14thAugust 1947.After its inception, Pakistan immediately established cordial relation with US. However, the relations alternated the form cooperation to dissonance and from dissonance to co-operation much like the hide & seek some this research chronically enlists the major events, agreements and co-ordinations between the two countries from 1990 to 2001. The main focus is on 1990 to 2001 in which this region came to limelight in the four factor 1stly Pakistan U.S relations over all factors. After briefly discussion the background of Pak _US relations, the focus of this research remain on very important era of Pak –US relations:1990 to 2001.During this era the nature of Pak U.S relations drastically chaired overall and specially in defense, economic, nuclear. This choice also altered Pakistan relations with neighbors. With its neighbors namely Russia, India, Afghanistan, Iran and China specially with Impacts on regional Consequences. In order to gain personal benefits, US refashioned its relations with Pakistan. Pakistan’s troubled economic conditions and precarious political setting combine with perilous security circumstances and a history of difficult relations with neighbors to also present serious challenges to U.S. decision makers. This work, through reviewing the relevant literature, has concluded with optimism that the relations between the two countries would be strengthening further in future. The 1990s would represent a turning point in the relations between the sole remaining superpower and a weakened Pakistan. This context would not change until after 9/11, when Pakistan became once more a frontline state and a pivotal actor in George Bush’s war on terror. Pak U. S Relations ship very positive and friendly in my research periods 1990 to 2001.In this period Pak U.S collaboration very sincerely with each other.
