Abstract: The aim of this study was to conduct an empirical research on employees working in service sector of Sindh. The first objective of this study was to measure the relationships between person organisation fit (POF), person job fit (PJF), burnout (BO) and employee job performance (EJP) among the employees of government service sector of Sindh. The second objective was to examine the mediating effects of burnout on the relationship between person organisation fit, person job fit and employee job performance. The third objective was considered to determine the mediating effects of burnout’s three dimensions (emotional exhaustion, cynicism and reduced personal accomplishment) on relationship between POF, PJF and EJP. This research study was conducted based on questionnaire survey. The data were collected from 382 employees of public sector; Hospitals, Banks and General Universities of Sindh. The Government Doctors, Bankers and the University Teachers were the respondents of this study. The CB-SEM was used in this study. It is a robust statistical technique covered with several outcomes. The confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was established for both conceptual and modified model and after CFA analysis the structural model was tested on the basis of Structural Equation Modelling. The hypotheses being tested with help of structural equation modelling approach and software like SPSS v.25 and AMOS v.22 were used. The results of this research study confirmed that there is positive relationship between person organisation fit, person job fit and employee job performance, the burnout affects negatively on the relationship between POF, PJF and EJP. Burnout fully mediates the relationship between POF, PJF and EJP. Moreover, burnout’s three dimensions (emotional exhaustion, cynicism, and reduced personal accomplishment) found as significant negatively related with POF, PJF, and EJP and these dimensions (emotional exhaustion, cynicism, and reduced personal accomplishment) fully mediate the relationship between the POF, PJF and EJP. The present study concludes that burnout and its three dimensions mediate the relationship between these constructs among the employees of service sector of Sindh. The implications of the research findings are discussed at the end of this study along with directions for future research. Keywords: Person Organisation Fit, Person Job Fit, Burnout and Employee Job Performance.
